TPC
- Summerlin & Canyons

TOURNAMENT
PLAYERS CLUB (TPC) – Summerlin and Canyons
At the heart of Summerlin, the breathtaking 22,000-acre
master-planned development, there is an emerald enclave
that soothes the eyes and energizes the spirit. “Desert
Elegance,” it has been called; a rugged tapestry of
arroyos, barrancas, flowing pines, honey mesquite trees
and natural washes. While the course meanders over several
hundred acres, it has only 110 acres of irrigated land
- another plus in the realm of environmental conservation
and wildlife preservation. Disturbing as little of the
native desert as possible, much of the indigenous vegetation
was preserved. "The theme of this course is more
the natural, rugged look to create contrast." Off
in the distance shimmers the city lights of the Las
Vegas Strip with all of its polished attractions and
to the west are amazing views of the mountains and canyons,
including a view of Red Rock Canyon.

Summerlin is home to the first PGA Tour Tournament Players
Club (TPC) stadium golf course in Nevada. It is a private
membership club that has hosted the Senior PGA Tour’s
Vegas Classic for the past two years. TPC also hosts
the Michelin Championship. This private 18-hole championship
golf course was created by Bobby Weed and player consultant
Raymond Floyd with such abiding care and scrutiny, the
TPC at Summerlin -- like nearly all TPC properties --
is a member of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program.
The award winning golf course stretches 7,063 yards
and is named the “The Ninth Best Golf Course in the
State of Nevada” by Golf Digest.
Of
course, while excellent golf is the central feature
to the sprawling Summerlin development, there are other
amenities worth noting: a posh, uniquely designed 35,000
square foot clubhouse with a full service pro shop,
luxurious locker rooms, dining and banquet facilities,
a junior Olympic swimming pool, a spa, tennis courts
and more than 90 miles of walking trails. The fine estates
in this area start at the $1,500,000 mark and range
to well over $5,000,000.
